Your Home page is the first thing you see when you sign in as an admin. It has two main areas: an Action items list of anything that needs you, and an Upcoming Payroll card for your next pay run.
Your action items
The Action items list shows everything that needs your attention, most urgent first. Each item is tagged so you know how urgent it is:
Blocking — payroll won't run until you resolve it. A reminder above the list reads "Payroll won't run until you resolve the blocking items."
Needs attention — something to take care of, but your payroll can still run.
A summary at the top counts how many items are blocking and how many are still to do. Some rows are informational or marked "Under review" and need nothing from you. When there's nothing outstanding, the list shows "You're all caught up".
Snooze or bring back an action item
To set aside an item you don't need right now, click the X on the right side of that item. It disappears from the list.
To bring snoozed items back, click "Show snoozed" at the bottom of the Action items list. It shows how many items are snoozed and restores them all.
Note: Blocking items can't be snoozed — they stay on the list until you resolve them, since payroll can't run while one is open.
Send a pending wire payment
When a payment needs to be funded by wire, a Send your wire payment item appears in your Action items. Wires aren't sent automatically — you send them from your bank.
Open the Send your wire payment item. It shows the exact amount to send and the deadline — your bank must send it by 4:00 PM ET on the date shown.
Click "View wire instructions" to open the payment on your Payments page, where the wire details are.
Send the wire from your bank using those instructions.
Note: If you've already sent the wire, no further action is needed — the item clears on its own once the wire is received.
Recover a payroll after a returned or failed bank debit
When the bank debit that funds a payroll is returned or can't go through, a Payroll failed item appears in your Action items and explains what happened. It's a blocking item, so clear it to keep your team paid on time.
The item shows the right next step for your situation. Wiring the funds is usually the fastest way to keep payroll on time; depending on the cause, you may also be able to:
Retry the payment from your Payments page.
Update or add your bank account if the account on file is wrong or closed.
Contact support if it's an issue only we can resolve.
Note: Wiring the funds keeps this payroll on time; fixing the underlying bank issue prevents it from happening on your next run.
When your action items won't load
If the list can't load, it shows "Couldn't load action items" in place of your items. Click "Try again" to reload them.
Your upcoming payroll at a glance
The Upcoming Payroll card shows your next pay run so you can check it without opening it. At a glance it shows:
The payday and the pay period it covers.
The total debit — the amount pulled from your account to fund the run.
The approval deadline (for example, "Due in 3 days"), or, when Autopay is on, when it will approve automatically.
Use the button on the card — such as "Review & approve" — to open the payroll and finish it.
Click "Manage payroll" next to the Upcoming Payroll heading to open your full Payroll page.
Note: If no pay run is coming up, the card reads "No upcoming payrolls." Regular payrolls are generated automatically on the first day of each pay period.
Hide the Autopay prompt
If you haven't turned on Autopay, a prompt titled "Automatically approve your payrolls" sits above the Upcoming Payroll card.
To hide it, click the X on the right of the prompt.
To turn Autopay on instead, click "Set up" to open your payroll settings.
Note: Dismissing hides the prompt for now; it can reappear later until you turn Autopay on.
