Freedom does not send the wire for you. You send it from your own bank, with the wire instructions that Freedom shows you.
Fund a payroll by wire
Open the payroll from Pay and go to the "Payroll details" step.
Under "Funding option", select "Wire transfer". "Funding option" appears on regular and off-cycle payrolls when your company has a bank account in Freedom. With a wire, payday can be any business day, starting today.
Complete the other steps, then click "Approve payroll" on the "Review & approve" step.
Freedom shows the "Wire instructions". Send exactly the amount shown there from your bank, with the details shown there.
The payroll shows "Waiting for wire", and your team is paid once the wire arrives. To see the wire instructions again, select "View wire instructions" on the payroll in Pay or History, or find the payment on the Payments page.
Fix a failed payment by wire
Go to Payments and open the "Failed payments" tab.
Click "Retry payment" on the failed payment.
Select "Pay by wire (recommended)", then click "Continue".
Check "I'll send the wire myself", then click "Retry payment".
Freedom shows the "Wire instructions". Send exactly the amount shown there from your bank, with the details shown there.
The payment shows "Waiting for wire" until the wire arrives. To see the wire instructions again, open the payment's menu on the Payments page and select "View wire instructions".
Wire timing, fee, and safety
Your wire must arrive by 4:00 PM ET on payday. Banks take time to process wires, so start yours 2–4 hours before 4:00 PM ET.
A wire that arrives after 4:00 PM ET on payday can delay your team's pay. The payroll keeps waiting for the wire, and your team is paid once the wire arrives.
Until the wire arrives, the payroll is not funded, and that blocks future payrolls.
Freedom charges a $10 fee for each wire. We debit the fee from your default funding account, and it appears in Billing as "Wire transfer to fund payroll".
Freedom never sends wire details by phone, email, or text. Only use the details shown in the app. If you receive wire instructions any other way, don't send anything. Contact us right away.
