Off-platform means Freedom doesn't send that worker's pay. You pay their take-home amount yourself, by payday.
Open Pay, then open the draft payroll. Go to "Employee earnings" for an employee or "Contractor payments" for a contractor.
On the worker's card, open the payment method list next to their name (it shows "Direct deposit" or "Select") and choose "Off-platform".
Click "Save & continue".
On "Review & approve", open the section headed, for example, "2 people are set to off-platform payment" (or "1 person is set to off-platform payment"). It lists each person and their take-home pay, and says "We won't send the take-home pay below. Pay it yourself by [payday]."
Click "Approve payroll". The confirmation reminds you to pay the people set to off-platform payment yourself.
Note: The choice applies to this payroll only. It doesn't change the worker's saved payment settings, so check the payment method again on your next payroll. "Direct deposit" can't be chosen for a worker without a bank account that can receive it. If you see "Choose a payment method.", pick one before you save.
