Your authenticator code isn't accepted
Enter the code your authenticator app shows now. The app makes a new code every 30 seconds, and the old code stops working.
Check that you opened the Freedom entry in the app. A code from a different account does not work.
Set the date and time on your phone to automatic. The app uses the time to make each code, so a wrong clock gives a wrong code.
If the code still fails, click "Use another method" on the sign-in page, then click "Use a backup code".
The text message code doesn't arrive
Wait a minute, because mobile carriers can delay a text message. Then click "Didn't receive a code? Resend" on the sign-in page.
Enter the newest code. Each code expires about 10 minutes after it is sent.
Freedom sends text message codes to US mobile numbers only. If your number is not a US mobile number, or no code arrives, click "Use another method" on the sign-in page, then click "Use your authenticator app" or "Use a backup code".
You lost your phone or got a new one
If your new phone has the same mobile number, text message codes continue to arrive on it, and you can skip these steps.
Sign in on the sign-in page. When Freedom asks for a code, click "Use another method", then click "Use a backup code".
Enter one of the backup codes you saved when you turned on two-step verification.
Open the account menu at the top of the page, click "Manage account", then click "Security".
Under "Two-step verification", click "Remove" next to the method that was on your old phone.
Click "Add two-step verification" and set up your new phone.
If you have no backup codes, email [email protected] from the email address you use to sign in.
You're out of backup codes
Each backup code works one time. To get a new set, sign in first, then:
Open the account menu at the top of the page, click "Manage account", then click "Security".
Next to "Backup codes", click "Regenerate".
Save the new codes. Your earlier backup codes stop working.
Too many attempts
If you see "Too many attempts. Wait a few minutes and try again.", wait a few minutes. Then enter a new code once.
If you see "Too many attempts. Start over and enter a new code.", click "Start over" and enter a new code.
After 5 failed sign-in attempts, Freedom locks your account for 1 hour. Wait 1 hour, then sign in again with a new code.
You can't sign in with any method
If you have no authenticator app, no phone for text messages, and no backup codes, email [email protected] from the email address you use to sign in. We confirm your identity before we reset two-step verification. After the reset, Freedom asks you to set up two-step verification again the next time you sign in.
