Freedom asks you to set up two-step verification the first time you sign in, and at every sign-in until your account has it. If you're a new admin, you answer the business setup questions first.
On the "Add two-step verification" screen, choose how you want to verify: an authenticator app (marked "Recommended"), such as Google Authenticator or 1Password, or "SMS code" for codes Freedom sends by text message. Then click "Continue".
For an authenticator app, open the app on your phone and scan the QR code on the screen with it. Then enter the 6-digit code the app shows. If you don't have an authenticator app yet, install one from your phone's app store first. For text message, enter your US mobile number, then enter the code Freedom sends you.
Use "Copy all", "Download", or "Print" to save the backup codes Freedom generates, then click "Finish". Keep them somewhere safe. You can use one to sign in if you can't get a code from your phone.
On the "Two-step verification is now enabled" screen, click "Continue".
Freedom then opens the page you were going to. On later sign-ins, enter the code from the method you chose, or one of your backup codes, to confirm it's you.
Note: Text message codes only work with a US mobile number. If you don't have one, choose an authenticator app. If Freedom can't create your backup codes right away, you can continue and add them later from "Security" under "Manage account" in the account menu. If a code isn't accepted, see Troubleshoot two-step verification.
