From your personal home page (click Home in the sidebar), click the Personal Details card. Employees can also open Payroll Profile from the sidebar.
Under Basic details, find the row you need to change: Legal name, Date of Birth, or Address. Business contractors don't have a Date of Birth row.
Click "Edit" next to that row, update the value, and click "Save Changes".
Check the change in the "Confirm Changes" dialog, then click "Yes, Save Changes".
Note: Each row saves on its own, and only one row can be open at a time, so save or cancel before you edit the next one.
Your email and Social Security number are read-only here. To change your email, select your avatar in the top-right corner, then choose "Manage account". See Manage your account settings. Employees can change their Social Security number by following Update or change your SSN.
View your full payroll profile
Open your Payroll Profile to see everything we have on file for you:
Under Basic details: your legal name, email, date of birth, and address, with a status badge that reads Active, Starting soon, or Terminated.
Your Social Security number, showing only the last four digits, or your Employer Identification Number if you are set up as a business contractor.
Under Compensation: a Payment Method Preference row that reads Direct deposit or Off-platform. Off-platform means Freedom doesn't send your pay and your company pays you directly instead, for example by paper check. Click "Change payment method or bank account" in that row to open your Payment Settings, where you can change your payment method or bank account.
Your job details and pay schedule are shown there too, but your employer sets them. See View your employment details and setup status.
Update your contractor details
If you are a contractor, you can keep your business details up to date from your Payroll Profile:
Open your Payroll Profile and click "Edit" next to Contractor Type.
Set your Contractor Type to Individual or Business.
If you choose Business, enter your Business Name and your Employer Identification Number (EIN).
Click "Save Changes", then confirm in the "Confirm Changes" dialog.
Note: The Employer Identification Number field appears once you select Business. After you save as a Business contractor, Business Name and Employer Identification Number each get their own row under Basic details with an "Edit" link.
