To move your employees and contractors, pay history, and tax details into Freedom, our team needs to see your current payroll account. You add [email protected] as a user with admin-level access. Our team uses it to copy your records into Freedom; we don't run payroll or change settings in your old account, and Freedom never asks for your password.
Open Transfer access to Freedom from your setup checklist.
Check the provider shown under "Current payroll provider" and change it if needed. If your provider isn't listed, or you run payroll manually, choose "Other / I run payroll manually" and skip to the email option below.
Click "Copy email" to copy [email protected], and note the role listed under "Choose role". That role name is what your provider calls it.
Sign in to your payroll provider as the account owner, add [email protected] as a new user, and give it the listed role. For a step-by-step guide, click the "View instructions" link below the numbered steps in Freedom; it names your provider.
Back in Freedom, under "Done in …?", check both boxes to confirm you added the user and gave it the role, then click "Confirm access granted in …". Both name your provider.
If you'd rather not add a user, click "Email us instead" under the confirm button. If you chose "Other / I run payroll manually", click "Email [email protected]" instead. Either way, Freedom opens a prefilled email to [email protected]. Tell us how you run payroll today and the best way to reach you, send it, then click "I emailed Freedom".
Note: Confirming tells our team to start transferring your data. We'll email you when your data transfer is in Freedom; after that email, you can remove [email protected] from your old provider. If something changes before then, click "Email us" on the confirmation card.
